[May 20, 2014] On May 20, an estimated 76% of Ramapo Central voters passed the 2014-15 school budget, which will preserve high-quality academic programming and remain within the state tax cap.
“I would like to thank the Ramapo Central community for their continued support of the school budget,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Douglas S. Adams. “This will ensure that we maintain an excellent educational experience for students in 2014-15.”
The $130,372,327 budget represents a budget-to-budget increase of 1.85% and a tax levy increase of 0.82%. For more information on the proposed budget, click here.
Voters elected Craig H. Long, Marlyse F. Haward and Amany Messieha Dgheim to fill the three open Board of Education seats. The term for Mr. Long will begin July 1, 2014 and conclude June 30, 2017; the three-year term for Dr. Haward is effective immediately. Dr. Dgheim will serve the remainder of a two-year term, effective immediately.
