Technology Committee Update This presentation highlights the work of the District technology committee this year. A list of committee members is included as well as the goals and next steps defined by each subcommittee. Back-channeling was incorporated into the presentation and its potential uses in the classroom are included. 

June 3, 2014: Report to the Board of Education 
Elementary Standards-Based Report Cards This presentation provides information about the revision to the K - 5 Report cards that is currently underway.  The rationale for the revision, timeline and outcomes are articulated in the presentation. 

May 6, 2014: Information Item for the Board of Education 
Secondary Progress Reports This presentation describes the pilot of electronic-only progress reports for the 4th quarter at Suffern Middle and High School. For additional information click here to see the District's communication about this pilot.

October 31, 2013: Academic Intervention Services (AIS) Plan
In accordance with state regulations, the District's AIS Plan is posted here. This plan outlines district-wide procedures used to determine the need for AIS, a description of the services provided, and the evaluation tools used for measuring student progress.  

October 15, 2013:  Report to the Board of Education  
Expeditionary Learning: A Common Core ELA Resource  This report provides information on Expeditionary Learning, one of the primary resources we are using for ELA instruction in grades 3 - 8. The following videos were included in the presentation to the Board:

Grade 5: Module 1-- This video provides an overview of the first unit in Grade 5 from the perspective of a Sloatsburg student. 
What does it mean?-- In this video, Montebello students discuss the meaning of what
they have read. 
Discussion Techniques-- Here, Cherry Lane students engage in a discussion about what
they have read.
Working Together-- Cherry Lane students work together to complete an activity. 

October 2, 2013:
Two Parent Score Report Information Coffees were held to address questions about the 2013 NYS Grades 3 - 8 ELA and Math Assessments.  The following materials were shared:

ELA and Mathematics Parent Reports
from the 2013 NYS Grades 3 - 8 testing are being mailed the week of September 23, 2013.  Unfortunately, BOCES experienced a technical glitch printing the reports, resulting in a delay of their dissemination.

Academic Intervention Services This report includes information on the requirements for Academic Intervention Services including how students qualify, the district's responsibilities and parent rights relating to AIS. 

September 3, 2013: Report to the Board of Education 
Common Core and the 2013 Assessments This report includes a comparison of select questions from the 2013 Common Core Assessments and questions from prior NYS assessments.  In addition, the report includes an explanation of the cut-scores used to determine proficiency levels and how the 2013 cut-scores compare to those in 2012.

2013 Assessment Report This report includes data on the achievement of Ramapo Central students on Advanced Placement (AP) assessments, NYS Regents exams and the grades 3 - 8 NYS assessments in ELA and Mathematics.
