News and Notes

September 20, 2016: This presentation highlighted District programs and practices that meet the needs of English Language Learners.  Taryn Rivera, Supervisor of Elementary Special Services, was joined for the presentation by ESL teachers Amy Jusino, Katie Mercury and Nancy Rodrigue. 

The past, present and possible future of Pre-Kindergarten were discussed in this presentation. Teachers Jaclyn Budnar and Renee Dawson joined Assistant Superintendent Lisa Weber for this presentation, sharing their expertise in early childhood education. 

September 6, 2016: Director of Technology Eric Rizzo shared this Technology Update with the Board of Education.  The update highlights the work accomplished over the summer and the plans for the 2016-17 school year. 

August 23, 2016: The 2016 Assessment Report summarizes the achievement of Ramapo Central students on various assessments during the 2015-16 school year.  

May 17, 2016: Representatives from all 5 elementary schools participated in a K - 5 Literacy Update for the Board of Education.  This presentation was also featured on the District's Facebook page. 

January 12, 2016: Dr. Eliot Kagan, school psychologist at Suffern Middle School, shared this poignant presentation with the Board of Education on Youth Suicide Prevention. 

January 12, 2016:  The Ramapo Central Technology Plan was presented to the Board of Education by Eric Rizzo, Director of Technology. 

December 1, 2015: The 2015-16 CSIP Summary reviews the Comprehensive School Improvement Plans (CSIPs) presented by the principals of each of our schools.  Links to each school's presentation are embedded in the presentation. The presentation includes information on some of the shifts we are currently experiencing as well as a summary of interventions being implemented to increase student achievement in the areas of literacy, mathematics and social-emotional growth.  New and innovative efforts are also highlighted. 

September 21, 2015:  The 2015 Assessment Report summarizes the achievement of Ramapo Central students on various assessments during the 2014-15 school year.  Assessments include AP, Regents, and NYS grades 3 - 8 assessments.
