The Board is comprised of seven members; each member is elected to serve an unpaid, three-year term.

Theresa DiFalco, J.D., President 

Ms. DiFalco is an attorney in private practice. A former Rockland County prosecutor, Ms. DiFalco helped to establish the first Domestic Violence Court in Rockland County and the Child Advocacy Center at Good Samaritan Hospital for victims of abuse. She is a lifelong Ramapo resident and a Suffern High School alumna. Ms. DiFalco has served in leadership roles with both the Montebello PTA and the District’s PTA Council, and has coached Ramapo Little League, ASA softball and Suffern softball. She is the mother of three Ramapo Central students. Ms. DiFalco was elected to the Board of Education in 2012. Her current term expires in 2018.
Clarke Osborn, Vice President

Mr. Osborn is the Chief of Police for the Suffern Police Department and an adjunct professor at SUNY Rockland Community College. He is President of the Police Chiefs Association of Rockland County and Chairman of the Vincent Crotty Memorial Foundation. A founder of the Suffern PBA/DARE Annual Holiday Toy Drive and the Suffern DARE Street Hockey League, Mr. Osborn has been honored with numerous awards and citations for outstanding professional leadership and community service. He is a lifelong Suffern resident and Ramapo Central alumnus. Mr. Osborn previously served on the Board of Education from 2004-2013. In 2015, he was elected to a new term which expires in 2018.

Marlyse Haward, M.D.

Dr. Haward is a physician, a bioethicist and a Suffern High School alumna. A widely-published researcher, she is on staff at The Valley Hospital and is affiliated with Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Haward serves on The Valley Hospital Ethics Committee and the Montefiore-Einstein Bioethics Committee. Her family returned to the District two years ago so that her three young children could attend Ramapo Central schools. Dr. Haward is a member of the Viola PTA and is developing its grant writing committee. She was elected to the Board of Education in May 2014. Her term will expire in 2017.
Matthew Kern

A certified New York State public librarian and trained archivist, Mr. Kern is currently a supply chain director for Menasha Packaging. He holds a Master of Library Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is the father of a preschooler and two Montebello Elementary School students. Mr. Kern was elected to the Board of Education in May 2016. His term will expire in June 2019.
Craig H. Long

Mr. Long is a police detective with the Suffern Police Department and instructor for the Rockland County Police Academy. A Suffern High School alum, he is the father of three past and current Ramapo Central students. In addition to providing leadership to the school board, Mr. Long heads the boards of the Suffern Free Library, Village of Suffern Museum and the Suffern High School Alumni Association. A published author, he is also the historian for the villages of Montebello and Suffern, the Town of Ramapo and Rockland County. Mr. Long was first elected to the Board of Education in 2002. His current term expires in 2017.
Amany Messieha Dgheim, M.D.

Dr. Messieha Dgheim is a medical management consultant and the mother of two Ramapo Central alumni. She has coordinated the Microsurgery Training Program at Columbia University and held multiple paramedical and public health instruction posts. Since becoming an active PTA member in 1998, Dr. Dgheim has held several leadership positions, including Suffern Middle School PTA President and Ramapo Central PTA Council President. She is the Central Hudson Region PTA Director and represents the Board on the District's SHAC and the Rockland County Department of Health School Health and Wellness Coalition Steering Committee and Physical Activity Workgroup. She was first elected to the Board of Education in May 2014; her current term expires in 2019.

Teresa Monahan

Ms. Monahan is an operations business consultant for McDonald’s Corporation. A Ramapo Central alumna, she resides in Suffern and is the mother of two Suffern High School students. Ms. Monahan was first elected to the Board of Education in 2005. Her current term expires in 2018.
